Default New 48V battery pack

Yes I know search is your friend, I looked a little, but am in a time pinch so thought I would ask and check back when I get home.

1999 CC DS 48volt 6 8 volt batts. Cream color OBC, New pac first charge. After charging for 24 hours the charger still has not shut off (powerdrive2 external charger). Shouldn't the charger should shut off at 58.3 volts ? When I read across the pack with charger on I got a reading of 59 volts, the amp meter on the charger was at 5amps. Am I just experiancing a case of rookie jitters? Should I plug it back in a let it go until it shuts off?

A big Thank You to all the gurus out there, I have learned a bunch just reading what has been posted in the past.

I did have one new set of batteries go 23 hours on the first charge. It did make me nervous those last few hours... But voltage continued to rise... as should yours up to as much as 63v
