Default New battery install

Well I am finally taking mine out of storage and installing new batteries this weekend. I thought David had said it would be wise to change my OBC to the latest version to get the best out of my batteries. The originals are Trojans and I am replacing them with US batteries. I believe he said if I replaced them with Trojans again it would be fine but since I'm installing US batteries it might not charge them efficiently. Is this really true? And how can the OBC tell the difference between Trojans and US batteries? I just don't want to spend the extra cost of a new OBC after the battery purchase..

Thanks Tom.. All went well with the new battery install and I have the charger connected as I type. Sure was alot handier having the built in handles on the new US batteries.

No worries. Algorithm between 12V Trojan and 12V US is the same. It's the 8Vs where they differ.

Thanks David. I knew you posted something regarding that but couldn't remember the exact topic.
