2009 Brake Light Switch Question
I have a 2009 EZGO RXV I need to connect the brake lights. My RXV has 2 switches mounted to the brake pedal. Is there a circuit on either of these switches I can use? If so, which switch and circuit would it be? The left switch has 2 red and 2 gray wires. The right switch has 3 wires (orange, green, and black). Any help is appreciated!

Re: 2009 Brake Light Switch Question
You need a "normally open" switch to operate the lights. When the pedal is depressed, the switch closes and completes the circuit. I don't know what any of the factory switches are for, but a quick probing with a multimeter will tell you what you want to know.

Re: 2009 Brake Light Switch Question
Thanks kab69440, I understand the type switch I need and can add a 3rd switch if needed. The problem is the wires go into a harness and I do not know if they are used for something else or if any of the circuits are there for the use of a brake light circuit. I would like to use an existing circuit if any of them are not being used.

Re: 2009 Brake Light Switch Question
Here is the accessory wiring for a RXV.
Whether the wires exist in your cart is the question. |

Re: 2009 Brake Light Switch Question
csracer, pull the cup holder out, 3 10mm nuts and look for I believe a red wire and purple wire. If I remember correctly, these are the ones you want and make sure to use a relay.

Re: 2009 Brake Light Switch Question
Thanks kgsc and JohnnieB for the help. The purple and red wires were correct and I have my wires ran. All I have to do now is find a local source for the 48v relay. Thanks again.

Re: 2009 Brake Light Switch Question
The purple and red wires have 48v when the ignition switch in on and the brake pedal depressed.
