My G14 the oil light will not turn off, its lifted, the wire came disconnected from the sensor but i fixed it. I know there is plenty of oil in it. Any thoughts.

Re: Yamaha G14 Oil Light On
Could be a bad sensor or just put black tape over the light. Naw just kidding about the tape. Saw several weeks ago another member had the same problem. Ill try to find the thread.

Re: Yamaha G14 Oil Light On
The sensor can be unbolted from bottom of engine (all oil will come out too). Clean and inspect, easy to do.

Re: Yamaha G14 Oil Light On
Thanks cgtech. I will do it in the spring when I change the oil. Is there a replacement gasket that I should purchase ahead of time?

Re: Yamaha G14 Oil Light On
It has a o-ring, and is generally reusable. If it is questionable, local hardware store probably has a suitable replacement.
