melted ground wire
any one have problems with ground wires melting i installed a radio and used a 36v to 12 v reducer and after driving car a couple minutes the groun for the radio smoked itself

Is there an inline fuse in this radio? If not, there should be. Hopefully you are aware that chassis grounds are not allowed on sparky carts.

As stated you should have an in-line fuse installed per the radio manufacures specification. This would prevent that from happening and alerted you instantly you have a wiring problem.
By ground wire are you speaking of the black battery return wire comming from the radio connected to the converter negative terminal output terminal? If you have it connected to the chassis, and the converter wired to the chassis would be a problem and likely damaged the converter, and/or radio. |

you can take two 6 volt batteries to make 12 volts for your raido
