Default 2004 EZGO, adding back seat, leaf/lift?

Hello all,

New member here but I've had two golf carts prior to purchasing the 2004. I freely admit I'm still relatively new to these, though.

The question is: What's better - additional leaf springs, or a lift kit - when a rear seat kit has been added? I got on the rear seat and it definitely wallows a bit more, due to the load being moved away from the front. It's not huge, but if I were to put four adults on it, I'd rather not take any chances.

The tires are all rated 22 psi and inflated to 18 psi for now. I can't see the additional 4 psi making a big difference on how it squats with the load on the back.

That also brings me to another question - how difficult is it to add either the leaf springs, or the lift kits?

Thanks in advance!

sponsors sell a 4 leaf heavy duty rear springs that work perfect for the added weight... you could have them replace in just a few hours...

Thanks for the info. Think it's better to go right for the 4-leaf springs or to do the "add-a-leaf" deal?

I'm somewhat of a newbie...so how do you release the tension on the old leaf springs? I can get it on a lift.

there shouldn't be any tension on the springs when you jack it up, just the weight of the rear end. support the rear end and remove the u-bolts
