Batteries and Motor getting HOT!!!
1985 Marathon resistor cart. After charging, cart runs good for about an hour and starts loosing power. Raise the seat and the batteries and the motor are so hot you cant touch them. Any ideas on the problem would be greatly appreciated by the kids and myself. Thanks for any help.

Re: Batteries and Motor getting HOT!!!
Lots of could be's but one thing for sure is heat comes from high resistance typically so I'd start checking cables and terminal ends first thing. Might be time to change out all cables if you haven't done so. And the preferred way is 4ga welding cable throughout.
Check and make sure your brakes aren't dragging. Make sure resistor coils are not broken and connections are good/clean/tight. |
