I just came from the bad boy Cart Hospital
,I just dropped off the BAd Boy cart at the dealer. when he saw the cart
the first thing he said Thing he said was Oh oh the red Controller. This cart is 9 years old and been on more hunting trips than you would ever believe. He said the controller is 1000 watts, for the two 15 hp motors. The red controller is known to be a weak point- the new ones have two 500watt controlers- in the depths of your cart knowledge any thoughts "if it is the controller, a reasonable fix?" the dealer said thse controllers are A grand, a thousand, 1000, holy smoly also I was looking through harbor freight and I found a lug crimper for $26 is this the case of you get what you pay for and would cause more frustration than its worh? Thanks Spots |

2 500amp controllers sound good cause if one burned out you could limp home on the other one. and I have seen good enough crimper for $15 .... if you like crimps?

Re: I just came from the bad boy Cart Hospital
Dont waste your time with HF crimper, it wont do the job on 4 guage and above cables. I have gotten a better job from a hammer and small chisel than what HFcrimper does.
I personally like to CRIMP AND SOLDER lugs for a double safety, it requires some proper tools to not ruin the insulation on cables but I always add a shrink tubing over each end. My local welding shop will crimp and solder lugs on for me if I cut cable to size and of course purchase the cable and ends from them. I slip the shrink tubing on before taking cables in and then use my heat gun to shrink them to my own requirments. |
