cart won't stop going!
Fixed the battery issue, but now I have a new issue with the same cart. New batteries are good, everything works well- a little too well. The cart will start driving without pushing the pedal! If you move the gear (forward/reverse) selector even just a little off top dead center, the cart will start rolling. No key in the cart at all! The batteries are all connected (as far as I can tell) correctly. Not too sure what would cause such an issue. Little lost here, anyone have some ideas? It's a 3 wheeled ezgo, electric 1982. I might be able to get some pictures up.

Re: cart won't stop going!
you have 2 problems.
1. the solenoid is welded shut and won't turn off or it is wired wrong and won't shut off 2. the speed wiper switch is not returning to Zero.... check the sweep of the wiper arm. |

Re: cart won't stop going!
um, not too sure if that was serious...
A few years ago we had the same issue. I took some sand paper to the contact points where the "wiper arm"? swings and it took care of the problem. I assumed it was all the gravel dust from the campground. Never had the issue this bad though. Prior problem was: move the forward/reverse lever ALL THE WAY to forward or reverse, and it would go on it's own (but only with the ignition key turned on.) Current problem is: move the forward/reverse lever just a hair from top center (or neutral) and the cart starts rolling. (With the ignition key on OR off!) No key needed to drive this cart! Would pictures help? I'm not sure what or where the solinoid is... |

Re: cart won't stop going!
solenoid is usally a shiney object the is bolted to the top of the swiper board it has 2 large wires on each side and 2 small wires coming out the side and yes he was serious about hitting it with a hammer usually they stick open hit it in the top and then put it in gear and see if it moved if it does or it dont assming thwe swiper arm is returning to zero it is the solenoid

Re: cart won't stop going!
Yeah, my "wiper arm" is working. It goes up and down with the pedal. I cleaned the contact or "points" a few times before as I meantioned earlier. So I will try the hammer trick. Should be easy, I swing a hammer for a living...
