Default Hunting Cart SPecs.

I have a 2004 EZGO PDS electric and want to put a 6 inch lift, cargo bed and 22" tires on it for hunting. What tips do you have for the best performance?

Well, what I have learned here in a few weeks is this;
Go get an Alltrax controller. 400Amp minimum.
Upgrade the cables to at least 4 gauge WELDING CABLE.
Get quality ends for the cable.
Upgrade the solenoid to a heavy duty model.
You may have to upgrade your front/neutral/reverse switch as well.

If you get a 500Amp controller, I would go with 2 gauge welding cable.
Not sure if your motor can handle 500 amps....others may chime in on this.

This gives you the option of adding 2 more 6V batteries to make 48V in the future for added runtime and top end speed.

I just upgraded to 23" tires, alltrax 400 controller, bigger wiring and I now do 20 MPH and have pretty good torque, all on 36V.

good batteries, 4ga cables (all cables) and go for it. i would not upgrade the controller until this one pucks on you. no use in wasting money right now.

You will not need to upgrade you FNR switch because it is a PDS. Truth is, for extreme upgrages and riding you should buy a series cart, not a SEPEX. If you have bought the cart and realized this too late (like me) then there are upgrades you can do, in steps, until you are satisfied. I was not happy until I was totally upgraded, but you may be happy with a little less. Start with good batteries and good cables (4 guage welding should suffice). Torque will vanish with 23" tires. Only way to add torque to a stock cart is replace controller. Replace with an Alltrax 400 minimum. That way you can go to 48 volts of you still need more. Make the right decisions in your purchases and you can use all the equipment even iff you decide to add more power.

They are from Walmart $20 a set, very bright but have had two go bad. Can't replace bulbs. You have to replace the whole thing. One would be bright enough to see by. I have two of the smaller size in the rear for backup lights. They are plenty bright too.

i built up an '01 and put it through a good test 2 weeks ago. i got 22" tires 5" lift, cargo box with 150lbs of feed, myself at 200lbs. my brother at 190lbs and our dad at 250lbs. we have some hilly rocky terrain on 300ac. and another 300ac that is basically flat. my cart cruised the whole thing plus around 2-3 miles on the road in between the places. probably drove a total of 6-7 miles that day and it pulled through perfectly. i went with a 500alltrax with 4ga cables throughout. HD solidoid, stock motor

and buford, is that front rack from a shoppin cart? :) i got me an idea for a cheap front rack

The rack in front was from a scrap yard. It was made for racks in commerical retail. It had the hooks on each end to be used in place of a flat shelf. I cut about three inches off it so it wouldn't stick out the sides of the cart. You might find something simular at the closet or stroage section of Lowes or Home Depot.
That basket is so handy, one of the best things I have done to the cart.
George Stoneberg put me on to the idea of a golf cart. And it has worked out great. For all of you that are interested check out buggiesgonewild.com. Great ideas and information and some real crazy people. Fifty miles an hour in a golf cart, NO THANKS
I will be glad to help with any questions you might have on the carts.
