My thought was if he's at 50-60% capacity then it is time to recharge... What's golf?

Re: Question on Batteries
It was an ancient game where people were too lazy to walk, so a motor driven cart was invented to carry / haul their sticks, balls and beverages. The game soon faded, yet another dark side of society found a new life for the used vehicles once driven by these ball wackin', beverage drinkin' cavemen in kaki shorts and shirts with aligators on the chest...

Re: Question on Batteries
Well, strange things.
After only 4 hours on the charger the charger has shut off. Either charger is bad, the meter is bad, or something else is bad. I will check the voltages in about 45 minutes. EDIT: Scratch that I unplugged the charger and then plugged it back in and charger kicked back on at 7 amps. |

Re: Question on Batteries
I went to Google Earth and measured the distance I drove the cart today.
It was 5.5 miles. |

Re: Question on Batteries
We can usually get 36 holes from a charge. More if everything is new. The standard length for a round (driving time) is only one hour. With a lot of stops and goes... After 36 holes the batteries are usually charged within 4 -8 hours. The older batteries will take 10-12. I would bet at 36 holes they are right at 50% charge. I've run them for about 4 hours, without many stops and they start to slow down. well, are near dead...
Knowing this, I would suggest to check your tire pressure and run them as hard as you can tolerate or max. rating. One low tire will cut your trip in half. That is very critical for the batteries life (range) and often overlooked. Beyond that, these guys know more about testing and maintaining the batteries than I do. Good Luck with it. |

Re: Question on Batteries
I just checked the charger again (21:10) and it has cut off again. I am going to measure the voltages in 45 minutes to see where I stand.

Re: Question on Batteries
I'm thinking you may have a bad cell in one of your batteries. Have you purchased a Hydrometer yet?
