ezgo wont stop going

have a 1980 elect.ezgo when you put it in for./rev. it takes right off full speed where should i start first

Put the rear on jack stands or blocks so the wheeels are off the ground for safety

With the key off remove the seat and while pressing the gas by hand look at the linkage travel and see where it is broken. Did this just start or you got it this way?

this just started doing this linkage seems to be ok not broke or unhooked when you put it in gear hang on takes right off no gas pedel at all

I have seen the F/R assemblies short out and do goofy things like this.. do you see any sparks coming from around there when you shift it back and forth?

Not sure if this year has a microswitch for the gas pedal assy, but you could have lost adjustment on the plunger rod that activates the microswitch. If the plunger rod is out of adjustment the microswitch is always activated and when you turn the key on the gas pedal acts like it is already depressed. Any idea if this year has that setup Scotty?

i will check the f/r switch for sparks in the morning thanks and the linkage rod goes into a 3/3 box i will take the cover off to look for a switch inside it thanks
