melting battery posts
Keep melting posts off my batteries. All connections are good, batteries have had every test, have 1/0 welding leads for cables, and 500 amp alltrax controller. On the same battery cable connecting the positive to neg, one side is cool and the other end is so hot it melts the post. the post that melts off is never the same, it jumps randomly battery to battery. any answers?

Re: melting battery posts
Welcome to the forums
9 times out of 10 a burnt end is caused by a bad connection or bad cable, the rest of the time its a dead short and you'll know it real quick if that happens. You have to check those cable connections at least once a month. They will come loose if you don't keep them in check. Unless its just not wired correctly then it will be a cable issue. If it were a short you should have fried the controller by now. |

Re: melting battery posts
I agree, it is a connector issue.
