The red wires gets power from the microswitch that is broken. When it is CLOSED it powers the red wire to the solenoid, from the solenoid to the red wire to the controller. FIX THE SWITCH or replace it.

What is a PICK? I don't understand what PICK is.

The red/white wire is for when you have the charger plugged in it won't allow the cart to move...so you don't rip your charger cord out. If it has power TO IT the cart won't move.

Again, the diagram scotty posted is the one you need if you have a series controller.

I have continuity in the switch all the time. Closed all the time

If you have positive power going to that switch and its coming out and going to one of the small terminals on the solenoid and the other small terminal on the solenoid has ground and its not engaging then the solenoid is bad. It also won't energize if it doesn't have 36 volts.

Does the solenoid have 5 small pins? if so, you have the series controller and that diagram is what you need.

You could take a picture of what you have and post it here for starters...
