Re: Trailering with Windshield
I fold mine down and bungee, and limit speed to 55 mph. No problems yet.

Re: Trailering with Windshield
Talked to some guys yesterday who have done golf carts for a living for over 20 years now and their advice was to simply add some self-tapping screws in strategic points around the mounting brackets... no problems in all the years they have recommended it.

Re: Trailering with Windshield
This is funny that this subject is here. I traveled 350 miles with my mothers cart on my utility trailer. I didnt really speed but didnt go 55 either. Needless to say is about half way in to my trip, i looked back and found the lower half barely handing on, it got caught on the seat. half of it was hanging out over the trailer. as for the upper half, well its somewhere on I40 W/B in the middle of NC. If you can find it, you can have it.
I did remember to strap the seat down but totaly spaced the windshield. |

Re: Trailering with Windshield
When we bought our cart, one of the questions I asked the seller was how these windshields did at freeway speeds. She assured me they did it all the time & never had a problem.
I swear we didn't make it to 55 mph for more than 10 seconds & the windshield blew out all over I84. Luckily no one was behind us or they would have had a nice surprise coming at'em. |

Re: Trailering with Windshield
I asked about this before I went and picked up our cart and seemed to be the majority took it off. I'm with the crowd... better safe than sorry. I learned the hard way about half a#@in something.

Re: Trailering with Windshield
JMO, if you are soing 50 down the road & that semi passing you is doing 60 that is 110mph against the windshield & roof. I don't think either are made for that.
Better safe then sorry. Ross |
