Since we are talking about trailering, I assume the factory top is safe to trailer with at highway speeds.

I read somewhere that the top is not rated for highway speeds either. I have not had any problems yet but after reading that I plan to put some hold down straps or bungees over my top for insurance.

Trailered my cart with windshield folded down (at 70 m.p.h. for 2 hours) and it scratched the brand new front cowl I just put on. Take it off and don't risk it. Learned my lesson.

I also have concerns about the factory top at highway speeds. I have an overhead consol so taking the top off is not an option. Running a ratchet strap across the top is not the best answer because it bends pretty easy.

What’s the majority vote on the tops? Strap ‘em down or go strapless?

I towed mine sideways on the trailer at 70-80 mph with no problems.

Roof will be fine, especially the blow-molded EZ-Go ones. Very sturdy.

I trailer mine with the windshield on. After last weekend, I do put a cord around the bottom half to keep it from slamming up against the frame while rolling. Ask me how I came up with that plan. Couldn't believe that windshield would have gone against the wind and unfold. But it did. Also couldn't believe it didn't at least crack somewhere. They are much stronger than I suspected.
