well, the part i think you may be talking about is down between my batteries is there possibly another point i can get to the wires to check them, the only wires i see that come from that box are blue and green (each one has a male and female end so they can be disconnected)

Was your cart originally a 36 volt cart? Reason I ask is the throttle with the blue wire and the green/white stripe were on original 36 volt carts.

You can measure those to wires the same way.

One type has Blue and green/white stripe and then white and black for the throttle micro to engage the solenoid.

Other has blue, purple, white/black stripe, green w/white stripe and yellow. It also has a 6 pin connector. I think you have the older one.

Yes, exactly. Blue and green/white stripe are your throttle wires. Put your volt meter on ohms and measure those 2 wires. 0% throttle and 100% throttle.

Just an FYI and I would like for someone else to confirm this.

The throttle type you have is used on 89-03 36 volt carts.

An original 48 volt cart has a few more wires for the throttle and a 6 pin connector as used on 95-03 carts.

One of 2 things has happened. You either have the wrong throttle type in your cart.

Or...Someone at some point in time has upgraded your 36 volt system to 48 volts.

The easiest way to tell what it originally was is:
1. Do you have an OBC, F/R switch on the dash and a warning Light on the dash? If so you have the wrong throttle type.

2. You don't have ANY of the above. Means someone upgraded to 48 volts. Hopefully they upgraded the controller as well.

not sure what obc is but the f/R switch is a flat-like switch mounted below the seat and there is a battery light on the dash.

Ok....sounds like you have the wrong throttle for that cart...BUT if its wired right it should still work. Only you can confirm if its a different throttle.

Does this look like your system?

They both have the blue wire and the green/white stripe wire.
