The brush dust can cause internal shorts. It's unlikely but possible. The grooves shouldn't matter a whole lot because your brushes are wore the same way. It's not "right" by any means but I guess it works.

yea, i put it up on jack stands, the wheels turned freely without any weird noises coming from the rear!

Well I hope you get this thing going. I'm sure its making you crazy, I know it is me. There is nothing left that hasn't been checked......only if something is miswired but it's running so it shouldn't be. Only thing you can do is print the diagram and make sure it's all good. They are not supposed to go 20 MPH...more like 12-15 MPH.

I believe the resistor, when it's regening, will burn off as heat whatever the controller can't put back into the batteries. The motor turns into a generator and can push quite a few amps on a steep hill.

ok, thanks for everything, i guess when i get it all back together, i will get on it with my hand held gps and just see how fast i am going! once again, thanks for your time you are cool people!

I am having the exact same problem with my '00 club car pdp regen 2. Was it the soloniod after all?
