Default First timer- 2001 Club Car DS

This cart seems to run just fine on flat ground, but is really slow on the hills. Won't even pull some of them. I have been reading on here about the roll test to check the speed sensor. I tried this and have no resistance or the beeps that are said to be expected if the sensor is good. I have no wiring diagram or anything like that to locate and replace this part. If in fact it is the problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have also read about the different speed codes. How can I determine what mine is. this is strictly stock and has had nothing done to it at all.

2001 i don,t think much about what your asking will apply to your cart......how old are batteries? and have you had them load tested? if not i would start with load testing batteries and seeing what shape cables are in..................................

Camodude, I think you had another thread going, but what Shadowman is trying to say is that your cart may be a series not regen and if so you do not have a speed sensor or a speed code on the controller.

Maybe you could confirm what you have IQ/Regen or series, there are some intructions in the stickies. But If you have a forward reverse switch that is an arm that you move one side to the other then your cart is series.

Wow, that sure makes a rookie look like a rookie. I do, in fact have a series. So now that I know that, and the fact that it has no speed sensor, the batteries are the next choice of being the problem? The stamp on top of the posts says 6L. I take that to mean Dec of 06. Is that right?

And 7 year old batteries are at the end of their life expectancy.
