Re: Brakes Locking Up
Lifting over 4" could also "stretch" the stock brake cables a little too tight which causes the brakes to be very touchy. If the axle isn't moving then I'd check this as well. IIRC, a workhorse cable or flipping the bracket is a solution. Do a search as this issue has been discussed before.
HTH! Good luck! |

Re: Brakes Locking Up
Workhorse cable
Can you give me some details ?? Is this just a longer cable or better..(a part number would be great) or vendor selling. I measured the driver side cable and it is about 34 inches and passenger side about 54 inches. When you say flip the bracket what do you mean. Sorry to ask so many questions and i have done many searches to find the answers i need but not much help. SORRY!! THANKS FOR YOUR HELP!! BG |

Re: Brakes Locking Up
I have welded the blocks to the rearend housing and it takes alot of the loose motion out.

Re: Brakes Locking Up
I think alot of the loose motion (rearend twisting) is from the leaf springs. I will double check today and see if the blocks are moving ...
What i have done for now is unhook the driver side rear brake since it is the shortest cable and is causing the most problem and just using the passenger side brake. Thanks for that info. Bg |

Re: Brakes Locking Up
I hope you ride in a flat area We have found the stock brakes inadequate when both are connected Sounds like moving the cable bracket will work, just make it real strong as lots of leverage and pressure is applied by the foot peddle! Keep it safe.
