Default About to upgrade DCS

I am about to upgrade and asking final questions... I have posted before and given advice and want to make sure I don't miss anything.

I have a stock EZGO 98 DCS

I think it gets about 12 plus mph now.

We are on flat flat flat ground in Texas.

I am going to order DCX400 for DCS, MZJ-200 Main Contactor - 36 Volt solenoid, and complete set of 4 gauge cables...

Is there anything else I am missing such as a resistors or anything I am not aware of to make this swap out?

Hoping when all is done I can get closer to 20 mph and hopefully a better controller overall.

Any other advice before I make the purchase?

Thanks

Make sure you look at the XCT control before you buy the DCS.

What does a xct controller give you over the DCX?

Higher peak and sustained outputs
Reverse polarity protection on input and output
Throttle signal auto-calculation
Regen braking
USB port programming
cooling fan option
and a couple of other things.

Not sure what the xct gets me.

Regen braking? Does this feed power back into the battery when braking? I think my toyota hybrid does this with my car.

Thinking I will stick with the DCX400... One of my concerns is I don't want to burn up the motor or anything like that. I am a newbie to all this. I just want something that I can get a little more speed and we are thinking about adding a fold down rear seat on the cart in the future, which could mean at times there may be more weight on the cart. The cart is typically driven by my teenage kids...so not a lot of weight on the cart to begin with. We live on flat ground roads and the cart will never really be used for anything else besides driving on flat streets.

Still trying to understand on a dcs cart the resistor and if I will be using the existing one on there now when I swap out the solenoid? Not sure about that part .

Thx

If you buy the DCX400DCS from Carts unlimited you receive the HD solenoid with a new resistor and diode and install instructions. Do not reuse the old resistor board it only works with the OEM control.
I hope this helps

Another question before upgrading...

I purchased this cart recently and the previous owner looks to have bent one if the battery post.

It looks like someone tapped another screw or bolt next to it to screw in the cable. I have not had any problems with charging or running the cart at this point.

My concern is this...not sure what is going to happen when I try to replace that cable and unscrew where they had screwed into the battery.

The batteries are about a year old, if I had to replace one battery is that going to be a problem?

Thx

No problem. Replace it or ask the dealer if they can pour a new post on the old battery. Some can.
