Default buying a cart

I sold my 2001 ds which I did all up. I just purchased a 2014 ezgo which I know is a totally different cart. I use it for street use only. May lift it with bigger wheel Should I have any real concerns?

Default buying a cart

I just purchased a 2014 ezgo rxv electric cart after I sold my 2001 ds. Don't have it yet but was wondering if I should have any real concerns? Driving around neighborhood only.

Please keep in mind that an RXV has no mechanical brakes at the wheels, and that going with larger wheels/tires will not only lower torque, but will also lower the regenerative braking effectiveness. Like all carts, lifting an RXV to enable the use of larger tires will raise the center of gravity (CG) and result in less stability. You can certainly go with larger tires, just try to understand how that will impact operation. You may want to have a dealer tweak your controller parameters to restore some of the torque and braking lost by going with larger tires.

E Brake issues are a concern. Down south I don't hear many complaints about that, but in the cold north, I run into E Brake failures alot.

Welcome to the RXV. I agree, there are mixed emotions about RXVs. Many issues, especially in the early years, difficult to diagnose due to complexity. Because it's essentially a microcomputer on wheels (drive by wire propulsion system) and not well understood, many of the golf cart shops/dealers in my area tend to avoid them.

I actually chose the RXV due to its complexity. The AC drive system is closer to the drive systems in most modern electric vehicles and neighborhood electric vehicles that I and others have designed, and that I have been involved with for many years. I fully embraced a golf cart of this design. I have been impressed with some aspects and disappointed with some aspects. But overall, I feel that there are more positives than negatives. Especially with the later year (Febuary 23, 2012 on) that the factory built with Curtis controllers. I convert older RXVs to work with Curtis controllers.

I hope you enjoy your RXV, and if you need any help let me know.

Again I want to say thank you for the help and support on this cart. I am just learning this site so I'm sorry for the reposts and such. This cart is mostly a summer cart and as lazy as this sounds it gets me back and forth to the girl friends house a couple hundred yards away instead of driving my trucks. I have a physical job and my day starts early so I do get lazy every so often. Again I had am electric 2001 ds that went 30 plus mph. Lots of time went into it. I did a lot of work myself on it and learned a lot. I just wanted a different look this time and liked ezgo look. I'm 48 not going to beat the hell out of it but like going fast.
