Re: Starter/generator
I found the exact same issue on another forum, The voltage was reaching 17 to 18 volts. Changed the voltage regulator and the issue was gone, the guy had checked everything just as you have, he was very frustrated to find out that the power will cut out on new electronics. I believe you can check this on your cart before you buy a new regulator, disconnect the charging wire that comes from the regulator (put some tape on it or something) to the battery, then try it again.

Re: Starter/generator
If you have a voltmeter you can measure the voltage when you press the gas pedal, you would measure it on the same wire or where it connects to the battery.

Re: Starter/generator
I believe I saw that thread. I did a voltage test and it didnt get much over 14.5. I certainly will try it again with the regulator disconnected if the antenna ground doesnt work.
It will be a few days Im currently painting the bottom of the cart adding new wheels, redoing some wiring etc. Ive been looking at V-twin videos. This is getting out of hand quick.... |

I was in the Corps from 72 to 76 just when we were pulling out of Vietnam. I was actually in a missile unit, (Hawk Missile) I worked on Mux Radio Equipment.

Re: Starter/generator
It's addictive, I'm getting ready to take mine apart. I'm going to completely restore a 93 Marathon, and put later model body on it. Add a Big Block, new wheels and tires, high speed gears, Clutches, lights, seats, everything pretty much.
