Voltage reducer?
Hey guys need recommendations on a voltage reducer? Thinking about running some led strip lights and would like to add USB adapter. I would like to keep my cost down also!

Re: Voltage reducer?
Check David Hicks - Revolution Golf Cars and scottyb - Carts Unlimited. They are site sponsors and have high quality brands at the best cost. They also have any accessories you need.
I'd get a 30 amp and cover any future growth down the road. |

Just got this one from one of the site sponsors. Gets warm but not as hot as I expected. |

Re: Voltage reducer?
Are voltage reducers really necessary for basic upgrades like led lights and a stereo?

Re: Voltage reducer?
Itr is really according to what type system you have (4-12's or 6-8's) and how much you want to tax just the one battery or batteries you are running them off of. Its a trade off of sorts.

Re: Voltage reducer?
The extra life you get out of your batteries will pay for the reducer. No brainier IMO

Re: Voltage reducer?
Basically once you draw any battery(ies) down lower than the others in a pack you create an imbalance which can only be undone by charging that battery separately to match the other batteries.
The unbalanced pack cannot charge properly. The charger only looks for a total pack value at cutoff. All the batteries receive the same charge. So the low ones stay LOW and the good ones go HIGHER. Eventually this cycle shortens the useful life of the pack. So the $79 you spend on a goo 30a 400w reducer with keyswitch activation pays off in the long run. |
