Default 82 Marathon clutch questions

I have just finished my HEI conversion with the help of Ron Man and Cart Around and I sure wish I had been able to do this a couple of months ago!! Now I am experiencing what I think must be in the final drive. When I am driving along at full speed I sense the cart slowing down as if I were applying the brakes and then it will again speed up to where it had been and then drop off again. Something came to mind that Cart Around had written regarding FUEL PUMPS; and though I had been thinking there was a clutch/torque converter I am now wondering if maybe it could be starving for fuel after it reaches it's top end?.... Anybody experienced anything like this? Thanks, Walt~
