8'6" in VA, but that would include wheels, unless they are UNDER the trailer.

That's exactly how a snowmobile trailer is built. They have low profile tires with the deck over them.

The max width on a vehicle / trailer on the national highways is actually 102". That said you may have state roads and city streets that still restrict width to 8'. Also lighting requirements change as a vehicle grows, must use the long tail lights in addition to marker lights. . . RV's have issues on some roadways and that I would say is the exception and not the norm.

With torsion axles you can get low like a sled trailer and you will want a decent set of wheel chocks on the bike. I would suggest that even with an 8' wide trailer you will be tight, doable but tight and you will want to be cautious to get your weight slightly forward.

Some tongue weight is critical, or you will have the most foul handling trailer on the road (and very dangerous).

102" = 8.5 feet.

How about modifying a boat trailer. put the bike up front and the cart in the back.

Use a reese hitch motorcycle carrier for the bike. And a 4x8 trailer for the cart
