Solenoid Voltage
Hey everyone, yea I’m a newbie Member, but have searched this site multiple times and has helped a ton, so thank you for that!
Just picked up a non working Ezgo this morning. Batteries are good and showing 34.8 volts on my multimeter. I’ve searched around but can’t find the answer I’m after. Can anyone tell me why I get 34.8v on one of the big post on the solenoid but on the other big post I get 26.2? Believe it’s a year 2000. Txt and number on controller says: G632D 1206 SX for DCS cars ITS Throttle Input 36v 300 amp controller CUR |

Re: Solenoid Voltage
What info is leading you to believe that everything is good with the batteries? Batteries actually look horrible right now. They should be at around 38.4. you need to charge them immediately.

Re: Solenoid Voltage
Will do, but at 34.8v, the golf cart should still do something I’d think

Re: Solenoid Voltage
With the Charger hooked up, it reads roughly 40 on one post, but 34 on the other.

Re: Solenoid Voltage
Also, just realized. Someone has added in a jumper wire from big post to big post on the solenoid

Re: Solenoid Voltage
I don’t know about that, have to wait for cgtech or someone else to answer for sure, but according to this soc chart that pack is less than 20% charged.

Re: Solenoid Voltage
Yea, I posted that before actually investigating what it is. It’s a resistor which also explains why there is less voltage on one side than the other.
After digging a little deeper, I’ve found that red and red/white wires are Melted where it plugs into the controller. Not completely melted, but you can tell it’s gotten hot. Any thoughts? |

Re: Solenoid Voltage
34v is not enough to power the cart. If the batteries aren't already ruined they are getting there fast. No testing will be valid until battery pack has sufficient voltage.
