Default ISO EZGO TXT GAS rear end

Well my 96 Ezgo Medalist rear end is still broke, slipping in FWD. Can I put a 98 or newer rear end in this cart? Any one parting out or know where I can buy a complete rear end?

How does a rear end slip?

MY thoughts exactly and why does it only fully engage in reverse. The selector is detenting in both fwd and reverse. I had it apart and could find nothing stripped, worn, no metal shavings in the case, nothing. I am completely confused and ready to move on to another newer rear end.

have you tried disconnecting the cables and shifting it by hand at the rear end. Maybe cables not shifting all the way in gear.

Gears don't slip! They brake and make a lot of noise. and quit obvious when you take it apart.

Make sure you didn't spin the hub

I think AirJunky is on it, see if the axle nut on the hub is spinning.

opps, I see we questioned that in your other thread, did you check?

Thumbs up Re: ISO EZGO TXT GAS rear end

Finally got around to check it and it was a spun Right hub. Hmmm, I guess this a common occurrence. It must have been the valve gap adjustment that got me more HP to the rear wheels, LOL.. Thanks Guys, i'll get that part on order quickly.

Might want to check the torque specs on that axle nut, don't know what it is but has to be real tight or you will have the same trouble over again.

At least you won't have to tear the rear-end apart next time..

Once repaired, check the rear hub nuts for tight as part of your routine maintenance. I also find that if you coat the splines with copper grease on assembly, the splines will not wear quite so fast and you have a chance of saving them if the nut loosens before you notice it.
