Well that was a challenge. Also not pictured I ripped out the foam in the engine compartment and did a little clean up in there.

You can fill the bolt hole in the drive clutch with grease. Leave enough space to get your puller bolt threaded in. Worked like a charm for a 22 year old EZGO clutch.

Yep that's what did it. The key at least to mine was to get the bolt below the holes in the tube so the grease can't get out.

Well I tested compression tonight and I don't think 30 is going to do it. I pulled the head and the jug not looking great. Wondering about the bearings and crankshaft. Have just a little play in the crank in all directions. Does it make sense to replace just the bearings or do I have to replace the crank too?

Based on my research on here it looks like the answer to that question is play in the connecting rod bearing. Is that correct?

Up and down on the rod bearing is bad. Side to side is ok.

Awesome no up and down play at all on mine. Got the case split but did not get the crank out on the clutch side yet. Anything concerning here would love to save the $200 or so that the crank costs and just do bearings and seals on the bottom end.

OK so my carts motor seems to have exploded all over my bench. Sure hope I can get it back together. I have cleaned up the carb and checked the fuel pump and it looks to be in great shape. I have cleaned up everything that is staying. I have ordered a top end rebuild kit and bearings. I have my new seals already. I have never taken a motor the far apart so I am nervous and excited.
