Default 12/48 light kit direct to full 48v's?

have this light kit on new (used) cart - I disconnected to try to get batteries to charge and like an idiot forgot to remember the hook ups.

Can this be connected to the full 48v pack - I don't have a reducer on the cart yet but the lights did work before I removed from terminals

thanks

I don't think I would try to hook it to the full pack. They recommend a DC to DC convertor at the bottom of the link you provided. I'd pick up a reducer and do it that way. You wouldn't want to unbalance the batteries.

They were probably hooked to 2 of the 8v batteries in series. Not the best practice but is a common one. Hooking them to the full pack will likely blow them all out instantaneously.
I agree, converter is in your future.

Here is my setup. I have a cheap 15 dollar 20amp reducer from China, works great and I put a on off switch in the main ground wire going from the battery to the reducer just for shits and giggles. Doesn't draw hardly anything when not in use, but I wanted to make sure I could cut it off. I have a inline fuse in the main positive wire going from battery to reducer and I have a inline fuse on the main line going from reducer to the red power connector. Works great for my lights and cost me about 25 bucks for everything.
