COntroller vs. Battery question
I just got my cart up and running this morning. I put in new batteries, new controller, basically everything new except the 0-5k throttle. Yes I did go with the Curtis knock off, If I can get 6mos to a year out it then great. But I test ran the cart on and off jack stands. Everything ran great. I pulled it into my garage went to take the spouse for a ride and nothing but the solenoid click. Battery pack read 50v. Is it possible that the battery pack voltage is too low? I didn't charge them at all yet, charger is being delivered tomorrow. It ran about 16mph on the srock motor, still have to see how it is on the hills.

Re: COntroller vs. Battery question
well for starters..... you should ALWAYS charge new batteries FULLY prior to use. HOWEVER, 50v is not too low, that's 80% SOC.

Re: COntroller vs. Battery question
If you have a digital volt meter check battery pack voltage under load before and after the solenoid. If the voltage is dropping out after the solenoid when you hit the accelerator the coil in the solenoid could be faulty. Are you using a stock 36V solenoid on 48V ?

Re: COntroller vs. Battery question
So if not batteries what should I be looking for? The Curtis controllers have a voltage cutoff that is programmable, the issue there is I don't have a programmer.

Solenoid is brand new, it's the super duty solenoid from carts unlimited.

Re: COntroller vs. Battery question
I just got my Curtis knockoff yesterday and the throttle input is wrong. I’m going through the same thing without a programmer there’s not much I can do.

My cart ran though, forward and reverse. I know there was a curtis troubleshooting thing on here. I just have to find it.

Re: COntroller vs. Battery question
Mine is a 0-5k. I'm trying to figure out if the controller is just that crappy or if it's the motor really couldn't handle 48v. Solenoid works. I think it's down to the actual throttle or the controller.

I got it to go in reverse. Still won't go forward.
