Default Headlight issue

When I wire my lights on to the batteries the cart won't move, when I disconnect them works great. I have a 48 to 12 reducer. It's a cheapy....could that be the issue.

Since it works fine after disconnected again, I would say so. Where do you have the reducer connected? (direct to batteries? Batteries and key switch?)

so when you flip the switch to on the cart stops moving? Are your batteries dead? If it is causing that I would think the magic smoke would be coming out somewhere.

Batteries are brand new. it's just a matter of when the lights are hooked up the cart doesn't run. When I disconnect from battery it runs.
