No oil flow to camshaft
I bought an EZGO MPT with motor problems at an auction. When I tore it down, I found a rod cap had broken in the middle. I replaced both pistons, rods, and caps, smoothed up the crankshaft, and put it back together. It ran for a while and the camshaft locked up. It looks like there is no oil flow to the upper head area. I looked at the oil pump, but could see no problem. unfortunately, I didn't mic the crankshaft but it and the cylinder wall weren't showing any wear. Head gasket can only go on one way, so I am stumped. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: No oil flow to camshaft
I had an issue with the pump keeping prime after rebuild. Changed pump cover and o ring. That solved the problem. The old oil cover looked ok, but that's all I did.
I also put a manual oil pressure gauge in the cart, now I know whats up! |
