With the plug in or out? Tested at the plug with switch turn off and got nothing. With switch in I got a tone so that part seems good. Then test the controller pins with plug removed and got no tone, which should be good right?

Sounds like you might have a defective XCT controller.

What voltage do you have on J1 Pins 8 and 9 with J1 Plugged into XCT and Keyswitch, voltmeter and F/R switch disconnected?

Best I can tell, Pin-9 ought to be 50.6V and Pin-8 zero.

I’ve got 51v on pin 9 and 28v pin 8...

Try upping the KSI On Voltage slider to 35V to see if that keeps the XCT from turning on without the Keyswitch being on.

-------------
With J1 unplugged from XCT and Keyswitch disconnected, check continuity between the two wire going to keyswitch. There shouldn't be any.

If there is no continuity between the wires from controller to keyswitch, contact Vendor and/or Alltrax about the 28V on Pin-8 with keyswitch disconnected.

If the wires are good, I believe the controller is bad.

Move the KSI slider to 35 and nothing changes. No continuity when testing in the scenario above.

It appears that the problem is within the XCT rather than external stuff like switches and wiring. It's time to get Alltrax involved.

I agree - Call Alltrax 8:30 - 3 pm PST M-F when you have a voltmeter and the cart on hand. Call 541-476-3565 ext 3
Keep us posted. Email me if you help with a warranty claim after you speak with Alltrax. (get the technicians name too)
