I finally got a chance to work on this cart. I got the fuel pump working, new lines all the way to the tank, clean gas, good spark and all she does is sputter. Note I also have new valve seals and 120psi of compression.
I got to thinking that this thing is pretty old for the reeds to be good still. I took them off and can see light at the bottom of them when I hold it up. Usually you can flip a reed valve and get that nice tight seal again but they won't seal up. Am I correct in thinking they should be completely shut down on the seal? I will probably order a new set and hope it will get it going but some guidance before Monday would be great too. |
