Sweet! You'll have to let us know how it turns out.

Do note, there is an o-ring between the side cover and the block, in the upper right hand corner. This is SUPER important and very easy to miss. This is the passage that feeds oil to the head.

If you still have the old one, it's probably best to reuse it. I havent seen an aftermarket one in any of the kits that fits right. If nothing else you're better off matching it up at the parts store with one that's a little fatter.

I did notice that the original o-ring was considerably thicker... in fact it wasn’t really an o-ring but rather a thick rubber washer... I used the new one figuring the hole was also surrounded by the gasket should the o-ring be insufficient... is that not sound thinking?... I didn’t use permagasket on the cover gasket like I usually do just in case I had to go back in

That o ring is what will make the difference between good oil pressure making it all the way to the head, and low. If the o ring is not thick enough, it is after the oil pump so pressurized at ~60psi. It will leak internally back into the sump and you wont see a leak, but just won't have the pressure you should in the head.

If it were mine I'd go back in and replace it. Usually the original one is reusable.

I’ve already popped it open and am headed off to the auto parts house for a thicker one... couldn’t locate the original and it had a sketchy look to it anyway... like someone had carved on it some

I never use the aftermarket o-ring on front cover that comes in these gaskets sets The original one never gives any problems. The new one is too fat and I don't trust it. Glad you got one that fits.

My new one seemed too thin and the original one had been carved on or something... I got a thicker one and adjusted on the OD just a bit and it worked great...

Finished the motor... worked out right nice... I’m pretty happy with all the tolerances... sometimes they just build nicely and this was one of em

Kinda surprised how well the oil pump works... spun the motor and it’s moving a lot of oil

Now I gotta figure out how everything else goes together being as how I didn’t tear it apart and this is my first gas cart

Is there something that I should do for the clutches while I have them on the bench?

Anybody know what this is?... Looks like some kind of crush ring that I just ran across in the kit... Hope it wasn’t too critical cuz that motor is all closed up
