Modded '99 DS, Loud Click when key ON?
I've got a modded '99 DS, ++motor/++controller/wires
When I turn to key to ON, it gives a really loud click from the solenoid I'm assuming - is this normal or is it possible that I installed something off? It seems to run fine - just want to make sure nothing needs corrected |

It should click when you press the pedal, not when you turn on the key. Is your pedal switch/MCOR good?

It accelerates smoothly throughout the range - maybe it is engaging at the low end a little?

It is not wired that way. Only the old Regen 1 carts powered up the Solenoid with the key activation. That was quickly changed as it was not a good idea. If that is a Series cart, you should need the switch On, Go Pedal depresses and the FNR selected either direction to get the Positive side activation circuit completed.

Putting a new upgraded F/R selector in it soon, and will troubleshoot from there.

If I remember right the regen 2 would click at key on then click again latter.

My modified cart (see signature) clicks when I turn the key on if I leave it in F or R. No problem. I just try and make sure I put in neutral when stopping.

The purpose of the solenoid is so you can shut off main power to the cart by in case of electric failure. This will prevent a runaway cart situation.
