Default Re: G1 motor mount replacement

Since OEM G1 mounts are no longer available, I use 4 of the "front mounts" for G2-G9. The G2 style rear mounts are totally incompatible for use on G1.

Mine is ‘82 and the mounts for sure look like what mike posted. Haven’t found any that look like it even if they say G1. Looks like May be altering then. I haven’t seen the tensioner though unless the muffler is blocking it. I’ll pull it tomorrow

Ripped mounts, they have limited lifespan. It's just their nature, due to their task.

yes the muffler blocks the view of the tensioner cable.

you wont find an exact copy of the G1 mount, just use the after market ones available and modify as you see fit. CGTECH is right it is the front mounts for the G2 that i belive they have copied

Do you disagree with the prospect of using G2 "front mounts" as another option? If so, why? If I'm messing up, I for sure want to know. Originals are discontinued, what shall we do (when you run out of NOS mounts)?
