Default Steering binding after lift kit installed

1986 EZGO Marathon
Installed a 5" lift kit and now it seems like the steering arm that runs to the passenger side to steer the whole front end is binding.

By dropping the axle the 5" - the angle of that arm got pretty severe. Do I need to lengthen the arm or try to make an offset arm to get it to play nice.

Thoughts?

I'm not a Marathon man but think you need a riser on the spindle arm. This kit is for a TXT but see the part next to the 2 tubes under the axle?
that's how some kits raise the location of where the tie-rod hooks on the spindle arm.

I have the same issue with my 87 and a 5 inch block lift. I haven't seen anything specifically to fix it, but if they make it I would love to know as well.

Stovebolt - makes sense - I bet I could make something like that.

I will need to look at the mechanism a bit closer.

Good find.

You might call Allsports and see if they will sell you the part and hope it fits, I have bought lift parts from them in the past...couldn't cost much.
