Hey slonomo..

That may be well and good for you but was definitely not good
at all ...for me

The "facts" you brought up maybe good on paper...but the
alcohol in the fuel did draw moisture so much so my car would stumble
idle at traffic lights...had to use Seafoam to fix this njumerous times
until I found an ethanol free gas station near me.

Have been using non ethanol for many years since with non of the
stumbling at idle when using ethanol..

No more ethanol gas for me ever..."facts or no facts"...

Best wishes

Facts: ethanol vs non ethanol

https://www.bellperformance.com/blog...l-and-gasoline

https://www.intelligenthq.com/gas-vs...pros-and-cons/

https://connectusfund.org/6-advantag...hanol-free-gas

https://blog.amsoil.com/how-to-fight...small-engines/

The fact is that it takes more energy to grow the corn harvest it and then
distill the mash to obtain the alcohol...farm tractors plowing preparing the soil
insecticides or chemicals used to treat the corn for pests...hope it rains...
the harvesting combines (tractor and combines using gas to operate) ..

Ethanol effecient ...hardly..

Ethanol is efficient. The only kind of efficient that matters to me is the kind of efficiency that comes from going to the closest gas station and getting whatever comes out of the pump

And in my car, I drive WAY too much to justify the extra cost of the ethanol free. I’d have to see a 9-10mpg improvement to break even which just isn’t gonna happen.

Sounds good!

Most cars that have issues with fuel is from dirt/debris/buildup or from fuel degredation from sitting too long in the tank where it will also collect moisture.

Maybe your car was sitting a long time with old dirty fuel in it from a fuel station that was sucking fuel from the bottom of their tank? A lot of times wer get fuel from stations that arent really busy and their fuel is already contaminated with water.

I worked for a trucking company and one time we had to drain 2000 gallons of fuel from a on site tank because it was contaminated with water and rust scale. It happens.

I've owned 27 vehicles and never one car had water in the fuel where it wouldn't run. So I guess I just can't relate.

Agreed. The data is hard to overcome. Higher price, similar mileage. No measurable performance increase except maybe on a Mustang Dyno.

Not bashing "non-ethanol" fuel at all. It's great. I just don't have it available to me around here. I have to drive 15 miles to get it. It used to be available, but not anymore. There's a reason it's hard to find....no too much demand for it.....because it's not necessary anymore with all the additives in new quality fuels and aftermarket additives.

E10 is safe for all vehicles. E15 is safe if treated. Any gasoline in storage should be treated.

Here is some good info from the US Dept of Energy:
https://afdc.energy.gov/fuels/ethanol_benefits.html

"Equipment and Availability
Low-level blends of E10 or less require no special fueling equipment, and they can be used in any conventional gasoline vehicle.

It is also possible to accommodate blends above E10 in existing fueling equipment, however, some equipment needs to be upgraded to comply with federal code. See the Codes, Standards, and Safety page and the Handbook for Handling, Storing, and Dispensing E85 and Other Ethanol-Gasoline Blends(PDF) for detailed information on compatible equipment."
