Default No smoke from muffler ok?

So my G1 doesn’t smoke like a normal 2 stroke motor does. As far as I know the oil pump still works, it always has but just to be sure I’ve premixed at 50:1 and still no smoke. Is that ok?

Well, if you’re pre-mixing it’s definitely oiling via the gas + whatever the oil pump provides. My G1 only smoked a little when I pre-mixed it on the heavy side.

I pre-mixed a 6 gallon tank of gas while I routed the oil pump output to a little plastic bottle. After getting through the tank of gas, which took forever, I looked to see how much oil the pump put out during the 6 gallon burn.

My pump was producing oil, but my math said on the light side. But ..this motor has been running since 84 and looked good when I popped it open and replaced the rings and crank seals.

So now I leave the pump connected and add very little oil into the gas....just to be safe... and still no smoke.

Ok good. I never did see smoke before I ran into some clutch issues. It’s been sitting for about a year and I just got it back on the road. I was worried that maybe the pump wasn’t working but I guess if it wasn’t, I would have burned it out by now. Thanks!
