Default Oil leak

I have a 2010 ezgo with the Kawasaki engine. I think it’s a rxv. It is leaking oil on the right side of the engine in front of the clutch. I think that is the crank case gasket? Does the engine have to be removed from the cart to replace it? It seems to me it would have to.

Also, other than the obvious fan shroud, what’s the purpose of all the other plastic surrounding the engine? On my cart, most of the plastic is broken, melted, and flopping around, so if not needed, I may not replace it. My kids use my cart more like a sxs, so I intend to put a skid plate under it, and will probably build a better fan shroud.

Thanks!
