Default EZGO Shuttles no torque

Hi everyone,
I've got 2 friends with EZGO Shuttles, both equipped with the 1268 curtis. One is an ST, the other is an S6
Both of these carts have good battery packs and MINiMAL torque on any sort of incline. I'm talking maybe doing 5mph uphill with 2 adults.
Are there commonly known issues with these carts? Perhaps related to the speed sensor? Ive not done a ton of work on the factory shuttles but know that the 1268 is kind of a turd in this application.
Thanks for your help

That sounds about right, my older '96 shuttle gets the same, about 4-5MPH up hills, 12-14 on flat. I can have 1 person, or 5 and a trailer on the back, and the speeds don't really change at all.

Thanks for the response. Both of these are 48 volt carts so I thought surely they'd have a little more pep.

I'm in the middle of a 600 amp Navitas TSX swap on one of them so should wake it up nicely. Just wanted to make sure that it wasn't going to run the exact same afterwards due to some common issue

You didn’t say what years but the 2012+ 48 volt shuttle carts were terrible for speed and torque. The motor that was used really needs more voltage to perform. It is around then when they went to 72v

Yeah sorry one is a 2010 the other a 2014 I believe. Not sure how much has to do with the limitations of the 1268 controller

I spent a couple of hours with a laptop and a programming cable trying to tweak a 14 with the 1268 with no luck. I talked with Bob and that is when I found out about the issues with the motor. I have used the 1268 in other applications with good success.

Hmm interesting. The Navitas 600a swap should wake it up though I'd think, right?
