Just go buy new batteries. You're wasting your time...

If the batteries are OK, then leave them alone!!! Just keep them properly filled and properly charged

I must say, I tried it and had limited success. It seemed to work for a month or so, but the batts have just "died" again. By that, I mean they went from SG of 1275 to 1130, and lower. I kept track of the batts, cell by cell and now I can only charge them to 6.3 V, and that is doing them separately. I used Epsom Salts at 2 TBSP , dissolved, per cell. They weren't much better than that when I first started my "experiment".

On another idea, what about draining and adding fresh acid to the old cells? As an auto mechanic, I did it on batts that were not very old, but had weak cells. It would work for a limited time, but the charging on those batts is constant, and use limited...

I'm off to get new batts, I love my buggy too much to not use it!

FWIW the Delta QuiQ 48 has a short desulphation mode in it that runs at the end of each charge cycle. I was at their headquarters recently and one of the tech's gave me a real good explanation on what it did. I have one and really like it. No more boiling batteries.
