The battery light is there to let you know that your cart has an undervoltage condition and needs a charge. Or as I have found out it is there so that it will come on and go off intermittently to make you think you have an issue that needs to be resolved, ie battery going bad(check each cell with hydrometer, check water levels, clean and replace caps) or maybe a bad wire connection ( go through cart check all connections tighten and clean all connections) or maybe the obc is not functioning properly ( charge batteries manually to make sure they are taking a full charge run for a while then charge normally check pack voltage with meter after each charge and compare to make sure cart is getting a full charge.) What I really think that light is for is to annoy you and force you to perform the primary maintenance on your cart other than that I can't figure out what it is for.

P.S. those lights have been known to go off for no reason at all but hell at least you have now done the maintenance on your cart should be good for another month.
