Re: 1990 ezgo question!! please help
lol, even though mine checked good you still need a neck brace when starting off fresh from a charge or after it has been sitting for a few mins. Feels like it pulls the front tires off the ground sometimes. I am breaking new batteries and then figured I would check into it deeper here pretty soon....I will keep an eye on this thread and maybe learn some myself.

If the Pot is open and then the micro ingages, you might be starting the cart with the pot already open a little bit, you might want to check the adjustment of everything when you check switches later

Re: 1990 ezgo question!! please help
Another possibility.......Are there 2 or 3 small allen head screws on the side of your controller? If so this is one of the adjustable Curtis 1205 controllers or other knock off units. Typically the top one is the amp adjustment which may be turned all the way in and giving full amps at any sign of signal from the pot box. Note you will have to remove the allen head screw and adjust with a small flat blade screwdriver. If the pot is out of adjustment or is wide open at 5000ohms then this could be causing this however, the controller HPD should not let it occur. The HPD circuit is designed to not let the user depress the pedal and then shift into f/r under load. Its a safety feature.

Re: 1990 ezgo question!! please help
Lets try to keep this simple ..... with the cart's rear wheels jacked off of the floor...... remove the seat bottom. key on, select F or R (whichever works).
Does the solenoid click before the potentiometer (pot) begins it's OHMs reading increase? And just what is the reading on the ohms meter from start to finish? Is it going all the way to 0 ? IT can be as simple as a micro not clicking before the ohm signal increases and tells the Controller to pour the amperage on? There is a micro on the Pot .... |
