Re: Why didn't my cart get faster with larger tires?
Club car sepex carts have some interesting features : I don't think this was available in 95. Are you certain about the year?
• Pedal Down Motor Braking: This feature helps to control vehicle downhill speed. When vehicle speed exceeds approximately 15 mph motor braking is activated, which holds top speed to approximately 13-15 mph. Motor braking is automatically disengaged when vehicle speed slows below approximately 13 mph. |

The 1995 potentiometer ( multistep ) puts out 5k -0 ohms over the range of peddle travel. Check it at the controller on the two small wires (usually white & black)

Re: Why didn't my cart get faster with larger tires?
Yeah. I'm sure about the year and I'm sure its a series cart so I assume that takes out the motor braking idea.
There are 4 wires that spade plug into the controller. Yellow, green, solid red, and purple. I will try and trace these back to see which to check for ohm load when I get home this afternoon(unless someone knows which colors they are). I guess I need to jack the rear of the cart up and hold the meter without touching the throttle and see if I get 5K, then get someone to floor it and check again to see if I get zero K. Is this correct? |

Quote:
LARGE The controller has 3 LARGE terminals. One is vertical and has the 2 gauge blue wire. Two are horizontal. One of these has the green wire and the yellow wire(both 2 gauge) on it along with a small 16 gauge red with white stripe wire and a 16 gauge black wire on it. The last large terminal has the black 2 gauge wire than comes through the on-board computer. SMALL In addition to these wires there is a vertical row of 4 16 gauge spade terminals(Yellow, green, solid red, and light purple) but I do not know where these small wires go other than the fact they are attached to the controller. My controller looks like the one on the far bottom left in the picture. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...en-system.html |

Re: Why didn't my cart get faster with larger tires?
I'm sorry, I misread your post. I thought you were describing MOTOR wires, not CONTROLLER wires. Your system could very well be a series system, MY BAD!

Re: Why didn't my cart get faster with larger tires?
I just can't understand why I can't get any faster than 15mph with brand new batteries, upgraded 400amp controller, and 25 inch tires. It is like an exactly even trade-off for the addition weight of the tires. Come on. that doesn't sound to me. Not on top end anyway. IT would go 15mph stock. It just has me scratching my head. I wanted more before the motor upgrade.

Re: Why didn't my cart get faster with larger tires?
25s are huge tires for a cart. I would have thought that you'd gain with 22s, then it would start going down at some point.
Looks cool though. Hope the engine upgrade does the trick for you. |
