Default Remind me about the axel...again.

If bolts enter from driver side and bottom out into body, then it's a "graziano" or is it a Kawasaki? BTW, my cart is a 95CCDS48volt. I want to know what kind of high speed gears I need.
Thanks.

I am not 100% sure what you are asking for but maybe this will help. My cart is a 1995CC DS 48 Volt. The attached picture will show what I think you are asking for. The label on the axle on the passenger side says Kawasaki. Hope this helps.

You lost me with the "Bottom out into body" part.... But if they are on the drivers side of the differential then it is a Kawasaki. Graziano bolts are on the passenger side. Graziano units also have 2 bolts that you must remove the motor to access. A Kawasaki unit can be split with the motor in place.

Tahoe, I thought there were 2 different Graziano axles out there and the bolts went from opposite sides depending on if it was a 2 peice or a 3 piece axle? Am I wrong on that or is that just the newer carts that featured the 2 different Graziano axles?

Thanks Tahoe!

A former BGW member had told me about that a few years back when I had my "sparkie",
and the heck if I could remember it, or find the thead.

The same question came up in the gasser section, and I tried, but couldn't answer it!

So MY question is... Did CC gassers ever have a Graziano transaxle??? (for future reference)

Hey BRS, good to see ya' again! and sorry for the hijack!

I've heard this rumor myself. I think it has something to do with one of the gears in the case. In one situation, the gear is made onto the shaft, and in the other situation, it's pressed on and is removable. Don't hold me to this information. I've been working on these things for 9 years now and I've only seen one variation of this drive unit.

Nope they never used Graziano in gas cars... However, the transmission will supposedly bolt right up to it and it'll work just as good as the Kawasaki.

Tahoe, I did some research and from what I am reading, there apparently is 2 different Graziano axles (made from 98 til present?):

http://www.nivelparts.com/pages/product.aspx?sku=5883

plus the Kawasaki (gas only?):

http://www.nivelparts.com/pages/product.aspx?sku=5881

and I also found this one available as well which appears to be for the 88-96 model years?

Yes... I've heard of this... The two photos of the Graziano gears describes exactly what I'm talking about. One with a solid shaft with the gear made onto it, and the other with a press-on gear.... However still, I've yet to see a Graziano with a pressed on gear. Every one I've ever seen was the one that would require the 2 piece kit. I'm not saying they're wrong at all. I'm just saying that obviously the 2 piece is more plentiful.
