Cutting Dash
Ok, so after all my analysis of what I would like to do :) ...
I am ready to mount my switches into my carbon fiber dash. I have the EZGO 95 PDS, and the switches are basically going where the ball holder is. Any tips or pointers? I was planning to use a dremmel tool, but honestly I have only used it once or twice. Any recommendations on how to go about this so it results in a first rate job? I also have a 36v Meter that looks pretty tough to install. The flange is "inverted" and screws in from the back. Seems I would have to cut a perfect square hole in order to get it setup. I am thinking I cant do that.. Is there some "piping" or something you can buy to help clean up any problems? Any help on how to make that better? Also looking for any input on a "dome" type light |

Re: Cutting Dash
Calculate the size of the hole needed and draw it on a piece of masking tape.... cut the tape and adhere it to the dash ...... I have cut those dashes with a razor knife ... which I can control pretty good........

Re: Cutting Dash
go buy a multi step bit in the size you need (harbor freight sells a 3 pc set for under $10). Mask off the dash with masking tape. Mark the hole locations. Drill a small pilot hole in the center of the switch hole location. Change to the "step bit" and drill your hole.
http://www.harborfreight.com/3-piece...lls-91616.html the one pictured on the right seems to be the best fit for MOST toggle switches. |

Re: Cutting Dash
Well I got the switches in, just took my time with them. Turned out really nice looking I think.
Used a dremel drill bit... |

Re: Cutting Dash
Now to find a way to get that 36v gauge to look right, and where to put it :)
Thinking either vertical over right of the Key Switch, or horizontal, right there to the right of the switches... Question on the LED switch wiring. The switches have a ground spade for the LED, can I just jumper them all together and then take them back to a negative post? |

Re: Cutting Dash
sorry about the earlier post... I didn't realize you were using Rocker switches...... That looks nice and clean. As for the ground for the LED on the switches, yes, jumper them together and run it back to your 12v ground that you are using for your lighting circuit/accessory circuit.
