OK I found out the Problem- 2/3s of the family does not believe in automatice charge
To refresh everyone, I asked for information and Got great information to encourage 2/3 of the family to recharge the batteries after use-
2/3 of the families that use the cart are putting the cart away discharged. And then throwing a 1/ hour and sometimes 1-2 hour charge on the cart. They will never leave the charger on overnight- God Forbid- you will burn the barn down. Batteries are not meant to charged that long- I sent a note to Lester to ask for some hard copies of instructions on how to use their chargers- I was told again this weekend, NO BATTERY should be charged 10 -12 hours. Automatic chargers DO NOT WORK, automatic chargers burn up batteries Nothing is to be left plugged in when we leave after the weekend. I have tried to explain, it is a battery pack- 6 Deep Cycle batteries and they go by different rules. I think I am spitting into the wind- Can anyone suggest where I can get hard copies of written Corporate instructions on how to charge Golf cart battery packs? Because they do not know where I came up with the information but anybody can write anything on the net- even if its not true- Is that freaking paranoid or what? but two of the people read Gossip magazines I am beginning to think, my best answer is to get a gas cart and put an end to this craziness- of arguing over a cart- When I get my Hunting cart redone, It will come home with me and I will charge it after each use- I just bought a trolling motor battery and I guess I will be taking and bringing it home with me every time I go, because they are not charging the battery and they go bad after two years- The one person keeps bringing truck battery for the trolling motor use and can't figure out why they go dead so quick I found an EZGO gas cart without motor for real good price and another site a guy had a motor out of a 98- A radio announcer here in St. Louis used to say- You cant fix stupid, and that is what I am begining to Understand what I am up against |

Try some battery sites and down load their instructions
with the letter head, maybe that will help. Point out how expensive their methods will be and be sure the cart is insured before the barn burns down. |

Go up to the Stickies and download an owner's manual.
If it's your cart only allow the family members that do it correctly to use it. If they're going to act like a child....treat them like children. |

I can email a copy and post a Lester owner's manual tonight .... including the quote "allow 10-12 hours for normal charging." Pm me your email and be patient...
I will ask Roady about posting a copy.... |

Take the cart away, they don't deserve it.

Re: OK I found out the Problem- 2/3s of the family does not believe in automatice ch
From the owner/operator manual that comes with a new Lester 36v Charger ........
Quote: 3. Charger will automatically stop when batteries are fully charged. Charge time will vary with battery capacity, depth of discharge, temperature and age. Allow 10 to 12 hours for normal charging. Batteries that are heavily discharged, new batteries, or batteries charged in cool temperatures require more time. The electronic charge controller will turn charger off after 16 hours regardless of battery state of charge. |
